Professor Serge Demidenko
Professor Serge Demidenko enjoys an extensive career that encompasses working for industry and academia combined with services to professional institutions. He re-joined ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ (2024) from Massey University (Professor, later - Emeritus Professor). His previous positions included Dean of School (2018-2023) at ÌÇÐÄÔ´´; Head (earlier – Associate Head) of School (2014-2018) at Massey University; VP (Academic) and Head of two Schools at RMIT Vietnam, Head of School at Monash University Malaysia, among others. During his career in the industry, he progressed from an Electronic Design Engineer to Head of the Joint R&D Test Lab at a large computer consortium (1987-1992)

Professor Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam
Professor Abhi Veerakumarasivam is a University of Cambridge- trained geneticist, educator and science communicator. Before taking on his current role as the Provost of ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, he was the Dean of the School of Medical and Life Sciences.
His research in genetics involves the elucidation of components of the regulatory pathways that drive tumour recurrence and invasion as well as dissecting Asian genetic variations that confer differences in disease- risk and response to therapy. In recognition of his achievements, he has been awarded multiple awards including the National Cancer Council Malaysia Cancer Research Award, the Study UK Alumni Award (Science and Sustainability), and the Merdeka Award Grant as well as listed in the Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow List. He is the first Asian to be crowned as the Best Science Communicator at the International FameLab Finals at the Cheltenham Science Festival, UK.
He was the inaugural Chair of the International Network for Government Science Advice Asia that supports the use of scientific evidence in informing policy at all levels of government. As Chair of the Young Scientists Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Co-Chair of the ASEAN Young Scientists Network, he championed various national and regional initiatives to support mid- and early career researchers to drive academic excellence and contribute towards nation-building through STEM promotion and advocacy. He sits on various national and regional science and educational policy committees and has co-authored various policy papers and reports, including the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint 2025-2035. He co-initiated and led Malaysia’s first nationwide programme on Responsible Conduct of Research to create awareness and educate the Malaysian scientific community on the importance of research integrity and currently is a member of the National Committee on Research Integrity.
Abhi truly believes that the greatest challenges facing us in the 21st century can only be addressed through interdisciplinary approaches that promote humanity-centric research impact and communication, holistic education programmes that inculcate ethical values and an entrepreneurial mindset, and policies that support the translation of scientific discoveries and sustainability-driven technologies to improve the health of the planet and promote social justice.

Professor Angela Lee Siew Hoong
Professor Dr Angela Lee Siew Hoong is an Deputy Dean (Employability & Alumni) at the School of Engineering and Technology, ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, Malaysia. Prof Angela Lee has been developing data science curriculum more than 10 years and she is the key person to introduce Data Science degree at ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. She was recently awarded the National Outstanding Educator Award and SAS Global Forum Distinguished Educator Award for Asia Pacific Category. She regularly speaks at data science conferences. Angela has developed many innovative ways to use analytics and data science tools from the most elementary level to advanced analytics. She teaches Social Media Analytics, Visual Analytics, Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence and has authored many published international journals in the area of churn analytics, sentiment analysis and predictive analytics.Â

Associate Professor Dr Samuel Mofoluwa Ajibade
Dr Samuel obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia and got his master’s in Information Technology from Eastern Mediterranean University, TRNC, Turkey and obtained his Bachelors in Computer Science from Covenant University, Nigeria.
Dr Samuel is an experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for teaching and researching cutting-edge technology with over 10 years of teaching and research experience which spans across four (4) continents in various institutions. His research covers wide range of interest in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Optimization Algorithms, Big Data Analytics and Visualization, Human Computer Interaction, Data Mining, Sustainability, Blended and Collaborative Learning, E-Learning. He possesses a solid foundation in computer science theory and a keen understanding of emerging technological trends. He has a proven track record of delivering engaging lectures, fostering meaningful student interactions, and guiding research projects in multiple areas. He is committed to promoting a collaborative learning environment that nurtures critical thinking and innovation. Adept at leveraging real-world industry experience to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications and continuously seeking opportunities to contribute to the academic community and advance the field of computer science.

Dr Adeola Alebiosu
Dr Adeola Alebiosu is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health from Monash University. Prior to this, Dr. Adeola completed a Master of Science in Medical and Health Sciences by Research at the International Medical University, Malaysia, with a specialization in Epidemiology. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She also has a Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Public Health from the University of Port Harcourt School of Public Health, Nigeria. She has completed several micro-credentials, including training in Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response by the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergencies Programme, and training in data analysis with the HerTechTrail Academy.
Dr Adeola has both academic and industry research experience across multiple organisations, including the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (Malaysia), Pretium Nig Ltd (Nigeria), and the Nigeria Police Medical Service. She also has experience as a public health tutor for pandemic and epidemic preparedness. Dr Adeola is engaged in peer review for journals including PLOS ONE, Health Science Reports, JMIR Public Health and Surveillance, and BMJ Public Health. Her primary research interests are public health surveillance and secondary data analysis, with a focus on strengthening health surveillance and data monitoring to support public health action and policymaking. She has published part of her research findings in Scopus-ranked journals. She is a recipient of the International Medical University Research Grant Awards and the Monash University Scholarship.
She is continuing her research at ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, working with a research team on the Artificial Intelligence for Pandemic and Epidemic Preparedness (AI4PEP) project.
- Clinical Professor in Medicine and Haematology
Professor Wong Chieh Lee
Professor Dr Wong Chieh Lee is an internationally recognised haematologist with extensive expertise in clinical practice, academic research, and medical education. She currently serves as a Senior Consultant Haematologist at Sunway Medical Centre and a Clinical Professor in Medicine and Haematology at ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, Malaysia. In addition, she holds an honorary academic appointment as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London, United Kingdom.
Professor Dr Wong obtained her PhD in Medicine from Imperial College London, where she conducted in-depth research on myeloproliferative neoplasms. She completed her undergraduate medical training (MB ChB) and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Pathological Sciences from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. Her postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Haematology was completed in London, culminating in the award of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Haematology. She is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath).
With over two decades of experience in haematology, Professor Dr. Wong specialises in the diagnosis and management of both malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions. She has held several prominent leadership roles in Malaysia and the United Kingdom, including Consultant Haematologist at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals in London. Upon returning to Malaysia in 2009, she was appointed Associate Professor in Haematology and Internal Medicine at the National University of Malaysia. She has also served as Clinical Director of the Clinical Research Centre and Head of the Genetics & Molecular Laboratory at Sunway Medical Centre.
Her research is focused on the molecular pathogenesis of haematological malignancies, with a particular interest in identifying genetic and epigenetic signatures across disease subtypes. Her work employs state-of-the-art genomic technologies such as microarray analysis and next-generation sequencing to bridge basic science with clinical application, driving forward the field of precision medicine in haematology.
