Overview
This course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely, privately, and confidently. Delivered entirely through Open Learning with auto-graded assessments, the course requires no prior technical knowledge. Learners build capability in making informed decisions about their digital lives across key domains: identity, communication, social connection, information, digital literacy, transactions, privacy, and the devices and networks they use. Through self-paced interactive modules, hands-on experimentation, and reflection on digital practices, learners develop competence in managing cybersecurity threats. The course helps learners evaluate their own risk profile and adopt sustainable practices that strengthen their security and privacy posture.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Manage cybersecurity risks across personal and professional digital contexts
- Integrate practical security practices across multiple domains of digital life
- Explain digital threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents using critical thinking, reflection, and digital literacy skills, distinguishing between realistic risks
