Overview
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of building a strong and authentic personal brand in today鈥檚 digital and
professional landscape. Students will explore how identity, personal values, communication style and online presence shape perception and credibility across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and digital portfolios. Through reflective and critical thinking activities, students will examine how personal branding relates to professional identity, ethical self-representation and responsible digital engagement.
Using Malaysian and regional case studies involving young professionals, content creators and entrepreneurs, students will analyse how personal branding influences employability, networking and career development. Through guided discussions, collaborative activities and practical branding exercises, students will develop and present a personal brand narrative that reflects authenticity, integrity and responsible communication while aligning with their future aspirations and professional goals.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Analyse personal branding strategies based on selected Malaysian digital and professional profiles by identifying strengths,
gaps and platform suitability. - Demonstrate awareness of personal branding through participation in online discussions and activities by articulating values, interests and career direction.
- Integrate personal brand elements across digital and professional contexts to ensure consistency between identity, messaging and career direction.
