91¿´Æ¬ing Scholar

The appointment as a 91¿´Æ¬ 91¿´Æ¬ing Scholar is a non-paid, courtesy appointment given to persons with outstanding professional or academic credentials whom the university wishes to include within its academic community for the mutual benefit of the scholar, students, and the broader academic community. The appointment of 91¿´Æ¬ing Scholar provides an academic home and engagement with a community of active researchers.

A 91¿´Æ¬ing Scholar appointment does not involve any faculty status nor compensation. During the period of appointment, which is typically one to two years, the scholar is given access to 91¿´Æ¬ core computer applications as well as 91¿´Æ¬ /Notre Dame library resources.  

The appointment is recommended by an Academic Dean and sponsored by the Provost and Senior Vice president. All scholars must complete the 91¿´Æ¬ing Scholar Information Form.
